AAWAZ are aware through our experience and knowledge of that there are a number of women who suffer from low self- esteem, lack of confidence, isolation, loneliness and generally complain of feeling down. Mental health issues and depression are also common experiences for all ages of women.
For many families worklessness has become the norm, as generations have been brought up where the parents have not worked for a paid job.
Our Opportunities for Employment and Education project delivers a number of activities directed at young women in Hyndburn to assist them in realising their skills/ abilities and to motivate them to employment. There are many young women who have the formal education but lack the confidence and guidance to go forward for employment.
AAWAZ are working with families to get them to appreciate and realise the importance of working for a living. The women and families who are participating in our project are enrolled on a number of personal development programmes. They are offered personal coaching to help them consider the education and employment options that may be available to them. The women will are equipped to help them to learn new skills. We provide constructive new experiences for them to taste the world of work.
