The Pakistan Floods of 2010 have been rated as the worst humanitarian crisis by the UN in the recent history,with more people affected than the South-East Asian tsunami and the recent earthquakes in Kashmir and Haiti combined; affecting 15 million people and leaving 1,600 dead. There is serious risk to survivors from potentially deadly diseases,including cholera, which can spread as a result of contaminated surface and drinking water.
To this end AAWAZ in conjunction with ARY Digital Television in Pakistan has made an arrangement to collect donations to help 100 families (each family unit made up of six people) with food parcels that contain basic supplies for one month. The money raised from AAWAZ will help fund the life saving supplies for many people in time of need through this disaster.
